What is Field Archery all about?
Field Archery ..
involves shooting at targets of varying (and often unmarked) distance, often in woodland and rough terrain. As well as being a sport in its own right, it can be used to improve the techniques and abilities required for bowhunting in a realistic outdoor setting.
If shooting at Team Firebird FAC you'll enjoy shooting at over 30 3D targets, as well as photographic targets placed on a Boss
What type of bow could you use ?
Team Firebird FAC recognises all equipment disciplines for field archery, Recurve, Compound, Barebow Recurve, Barebow Compound, Longbow and Crossbow. The equipment rules that apply to target archery generally apply to field archery
Can anyone shoot ?
Team Firebird FAC is a member of the National Field Archery Society (NFAS), which exists to foster and promote Field Archery in all its forms. The General Committee of the NFAS will carry out the affairs of the Society with due respect for the environment and the health, safety and welfare of its Members and others who may be affected.
Because a bow and arrow (including a crossbow and bolt) can be a lethal weapon every member of the Society is responsible for ensuring that she/he shoots safely. So,it'll come as no surpirise that here at Team Firebird FAC, you will need to be an NFAS member. Please be aware that we will require your NFAS membership number at the time of booking and have sight of your card at the shoot.
